At the end of this week I will be on SPRING BREAK! Thank goodness! I am just ready to relax and not have to worry about any classes. Too bad I have a few essays, a book to read, a quiz, and some extra credit to do over break! 😦 As long as I get to sleep in my own bed I am good though! If you’re in college and on spring break, chances are you probably are traveling somewhere. Whether it be on a plane or in a car you probably have a bag packed full of things to keep you occupied along the way.
Here is what I would pack in my carry on bag:
Nothing too special. Just my laptop, cell phone, a couple snacks, a notebook, magazines, and my makeup bag with my charger, wallet, and touch up items in. It all would be put into my super bright back pack pictured below!
That is just what I would pack in my travel carry on bag.In the comments below, leave a comment saying what you need in your travel carry on! Have an awesome spring break and I will talk to you all again Tuesday! 🙂
TWO MORE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! As great as the holiday season can be, it is easy to get caught up in the Christmas stress of things and become a little forgetful. If you find that you have forgotten to get someone a gift you can either do one of two things, panic OR make your own gift. Personally, I enjoy making Christmas gifts for people rather then buying because it comes from the heart. On Pinterest there are so many different DIY ideas to choose from but I have found the jarred gifts to be a really cute idea. Here the idea I used for my jarred DIY cookie jar.
First things first, you need to find a recipe to use, preferably one that has a bunch of different dry ingredients! You want this gift to look aesthetically pleasing! 🙂 I chose a “Cowgirl Cookie” recipe because it had so many nice layers. Next you want to find a unique mason jar to put the dry ingredients in. I bought this snowflake jar from Walmart for $2.97, it came with a bow and gift tag as well. Now lets start the assembly…
What you’ll need:
1 1/3 cups of flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup baking oats
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cups of chocolate chips
3/4 cups of m&m’s
As for filling the jar you want to make sure that each layer stands out. This is how I decided to layer my ingredients:
Along with the cookie jar you also want to include a card giving instructions as to how to bake these cookies. That is all you have to do, so simple and so thoughtful! Hopefully you enjoyed this DIY post, leave a comment and give this post a like if you did enjoy it! I hope you all have a great Christmas on Wednesday! 🙂
So today my beautiful friend Lydia let me do her makeup. I decided that I would do a progression of pictures of the makeup process and describe what I did! 🙂
Step One: Foundation & Concealer
We just used Stila’s HD Beauty Balm, Lydia’s foundation, and Rimmel London’s Hide Blemish Concealor
Step Two: Eye Shadow
We used a few colors from the Lorac Unzipped Pallet and the Too Faced Natural Eye Pallet to create a smokey, rose gold, eye look!
Brow Highlight: Heaven by Too Faced Inner Corner: Silk Teddy by Too Faced
Crease Color: Erotica by Too Faced Eyelid colors: Unreal, Undiscovered, & Unattainable by Lorac
Step Three: Blush and Bronzer
I contoured Lydia’s cheekbones with my “The Body Shop” Bronzing Powder in the color 01. You can’t really see it in the picture unfortunately. Also, I used Rimmel London’s 006 Autumn Catwalk Blendable Blush and Highlighter.
I used a Loreal Paris liquid eyeliner to create a little bit of a cat eye for Lydia. I am terrible at using the actual brush the eyeliner comes with so I just used my Sonia Kashuk eyeliner brush.
On Lydia’s lips I did a just bitten lip look that has been really popular makeup look for the Fall and Winter. Her base lip color is Revlon’s Colorburst Lipstick in the color 070 Soft Nude. The reddish color in the center of her to create the “bitten” look is Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable 045 Romantic, and I applied it with my Sonia Kashuk lip brush.
I also did her nails for her! 🙂
Here is the finished look! 🙂 I hope you enjoyed this little makeup tutorial! Stay tuned for more beauty/fashion related videos! 🙂
It has been a while since I posted one of these gift guides, and since the holiday season is upon us I thought it was time for the next installment of my gift giving series. I have already tackled the task of gift guides for Parents and Grandparents so I thought it was time to write one for the girls in your lives. Whether it be a friend, girlfriend, or sister sometimes girls can be a little hard to shop for. I have included pictures with links to where you can buy these gifts as well as reasons why you should buy these things. I realize that not every girl will enjoy these but I tried to include things that a variety of girls would appreciate. So, without further a due, I give you the Gift Guide for Girls.
For a Friend:
When I am with my friends there is always someone who’s phone is about to die. The first gift I have put is a portable iPhone charger, if your friend ever is in need of a battery charge she can just whip it out of her purse and get an extra boost. This gift is perfect for your techy friends or girls who are always traveling. Secondly I have a value set. What girl doesn’t love makeup? I know that most of my friends would love this. Around the holidays Sephora always puts out value sets with samples of tons of different products. Make sure you ask your friend if she would like a makeup set though, some of us can be very picky.
For a Girlfriend/Fiancée/ Wife:
For starters, when you are shopping for your girlfriend buy something sentimental. The first item I have put up is a locket that you write a little cute secret message and put it inside. I, personally, would love this because it is really cute and something that comes from the heart. Anytime you want to really make your girlfriend happy, all you have to do is make the gift personal. Secondly I have perfume. You can never go wrong with this, my advice is to pick a perfume that you like. That way you know you will actually like the way your girlfriend smells.
For a Sister:
Last but not least we are talking about sisters. The first gift I have is a cheeky pair of mittens. I think mittens, or any wintery accessory, is a really thoughtful gift around the holidays. If I had a sister, I would definitely buy these gloves. They are super cute and the description says that they are good quality and warm. Secondly, I have chocolate. What girl doesn’t LOVE chocolate? On Amazon I searched for “Milka” chocolate because this brand is honestly the best chocolate brand out there. If you haven’t tried these chocolates definitely give them a try!
Hopefully you all found this post to be helpful. Again, these are just things that I think would be really good gifts but obviously different girls have different tastes. I apologize that this wasn’t a Wednesday Video, but I really didn’t have time to film one this week. Leave a comment down below giving me video ideas for next Wednesday! Thank you so much for reading and have a great Thanksgiving! 🙂
As some of you may recall I had visited Harry Potter World this past summer! Whilst being there, there were many amazing treats to sample. One of them being the ever famous “Butterbeer” mentioned as tasting of “sickly butterscotch” in the Harry Potter Series. It is simply delicious, if you’re a fan of butterscotch of coarse! This Butterbeer tastes exactly like the one you can purchase at the Harry Potter Theme Park, it is so simple and refreshing.Today I present to you a DIY on how to make your very own Butterbeer. Let’s get started shall we? (SIDE NOTE) Let me tell you, if you have not been there yet and are a major Harry Potter fan, you absolutely need to go. If you want to read about my Harry Potter World experience, click on the link! 🙂
What you will need:
Butterscotch toppings, Whip Cream, Three cans of your favorite cream soda, and an ice cream maker.
Follow the instructions of how to work your ice cream maker then pour in your cream sodas into the chamber.
Add to the cream soda a generous pour of butterscotch topping. Make sure that it is well combined into the soda other wise the butterscotch will sink to the bottom and not incorporate into the drink.
Let the butterbeer keep mixing until it is slushy. The picture on the right shows that the Butterbeer is still not ready. Also, don’t let it go too long otherwise it will freeze to the sides of your machine (not good).
When it finally gets to the right slushy consistency, pour your Butterbeer into the glasses of your choice and move onto step five! 🙂
Pour some butterscotch topping into a little mixing bowl and add some whip cream to it. Grab a whisk and start mixing the two together into a frothy topping. ALSO, you can use heavy whipping cream instead of using pre-made whip cream, it tastes the same. I just thought it would be easier to go the “lazy way” with the pre-made stuff! No one will be able to tell the difference! 😉
Top your Butterbeer with your butterscotch whipped cream.
This recipe is a special treat for all the Harry Potter nerds out there. REPRESENT! 😉 Perfect for a movie marathon or a nice way to cool off in the HOT Florida weather if you decide to try the original. I hope you enjoyed this DIY, comment down below on what things you would like to see in the future. I love getting comments from you guys and I always respond. See you on Wednesday! 🙂
Here is the next makeup challenge I promised you! 🙂 This is where my friend Caity does MY makeup! Enjoy, also leave a comment below on what you would like to see on my next wednesday video! 🙂
I was in the mood to do another DIY. I stumbled upon a cool nail tutorial on Pinterest and just HAD to try it. Just a little warning, it is a little time consuming but the end result is worth it. I hope you enjoy! 😉
Here are the Items that you will need to create the arrow look. You will need: four nail colors that are significantly different but go together (if that makes sense), a top coat of your choice, some tape, and a pair of scissors to cut out the strips of tape you will be needing.
1. Use the lightest of the four colors as your base coat. Cut two pieces of tape, try to cut the pieces as straight as you can. Then, place the two pieces of tape onto your nail making a triangle.
2. Now, paint on the next color inside the tape, paint INSIDE the lines.
3. Then you are going to want to remove your tape and let the polish completely dry BEFORE going on to step four.
4. Cut two skinny strips of tape. Place one strip down the middle of the triangle, then place the other on the outside if the triangle.
5. Again, taking a new polish paint INSIDE the lines you have created with tape. Then wait till it dries.
6. Cut out two pieces of tape and at the base of your triangle create a smaller triangle. Paint inside the lines with the darkest color of your four colors. Wait until it dries
Then put on a top coat and that is the finished look. I hope you enjoyed this post. I did this on my roommate Liz and I only took one nail. I was so frustrated you have no idea, it was really time consuming but I think it is cool. So its worth it, right? 🙂 Anyway, have a great Monday. Unless you are a huge Packer fan and are watching the game, because its pretty hard to have a good day watching this disgrace! #getbettersoonrodgers If you guys would like to see more of these let me know.
